RESUMEN

In this study, the influence of rural labor transfer and its spatial spillover effect on the eco-efficiency of cultivated land use (ECLU) in different regions were investigated using the undesirable super-efficiency epsilon based measure (EBM) and spatial Durbin models and data of 31 Chinese provinces for the period 1990-2018. The results show that: (1) China's rural labor transfer rate increased; (2) in the east region, the ECLU has exceeded the national average level since 2001. In the west and northeast regions, the ECLU was higher, whereas it remained below the national average level in Central China; (3) in the whole country, west, and northeast regions, the effect of rural labor transfer on the ECLU was first negative and then positive, whereas it was insignificant in East and Central China. In Central, West, and Northeast China, the effect of the labor transfer on the ECLU had significant spatial spillover effects; (4) a significant U-shaped trend was observed between the local labor transfer and ECLU in the whole country, west, and northeast regions. A positive linear correlation was determined for Central China; labor transfer in other regions had significant indirect effects on the ECLU in Central and Northeastern China. In conclusion, China's rural labor transfer had a significant spatial spillover effect on the ECLU, and differences were observed between East, Central, West, and Northeast China.

RESUMEN

Knowledge hiding, defined as an intentional attempt to conceal requested knowledge, has become a hot topic in management and psychology in the last decade. Emerging research has suggested that knowledge hiding is not simply the opposite of knowledge sharing, such that it is crucial to clarify the concept, explore the research progress and development trend of knowledge hiding. Based on 243 relevant articles, a bibliometric analysis of knowledge-hiding research is presented via descriptive, keyword and citation analysis. Results reveal that knowledge-hiding research, mainly focusing on the disciplines of management, business and psychology, is currently in a period of rapid growth, especially in the past two or three years. The systematic review of knowledge-hiding research enables us intuitively to obtain a panoramic view, including publication performance, thematic evolution and most influential topics of the field via a set of science maps, enabling future authors to investigate knowledge hiding and focus their research more effectively.

RESUMEN

On the basis of DMSP/OLS and NPP-VIIRS night light images, this study realized carbon emission estimations based on the municipal level from 1999 to 2017, compensating for the characteristics of incomplete statistical data and different statistical calibers. On this basis, the epsilon-based measure (EBM) super-efficiency model and the global Malmquist-Luenberger (GML) index are used to measure the urban land use efficiency (ULUE) and urban land total factor productivity (ULTFP) of the three urban agglomerations under the carbon emission constraints from 1999 to 2017. The following conclusions are drawn through research. (1) The correlation coefficient between the total value of night light pixels and energy consumption carbon emissions was relatively high in the three major urban agglomerations during 1999-2017, and they all passed the significance test of 1%. (2) The ULUE of the three major urban agglomerations generally shows a downward trend and then an upward trend, and spatial heterogeneity is obvious. The spatial distribution of the average level of ULUE is Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration (PRDUA) > Yangtze River Delta Urban agglomeration (YRDUA) > Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Urban agglomeration (BTHUA). (3) The ULTFP of the three major urban agglomerations are all showing an increasing trend, but the geometric mean of URTFP in the PRDUA, BTHUA, and YRDUA decreases successively. Technological progress is the main driving force to promote the progress of ULTFP in each urban agglomeration. (4) The kernel density estimation shows a significant gap in ULUE between the three major urban agglomerations in China, and a phenomenon of polarization or multipolarization is observed. The main reason is the hysteresis of technology diffusion.

RESUMEN

This present study primarily emphasizes to seek the COVID-19 adverse impacts posing health challenges and global economic crisis. The pandemic (COVID-19) continues to hit the global economies adversely. Pakistan is the 5th-most-populous nation, and recorded positive cases with the third-highest positivity ratio in South Asia, and 26th-highest deaths toll of 21,450 and 29th number of most COVID-19 positive cases with 933,750 worldwide, as of June 6, 2021. The first wave appeared at the end of May 2020, and mid of June reported its peak, which ended by mid-July 2020. Early November 2020 witnessed the second wave with low intensity reached the climax by mid-December. The COVID-19's third wave severely affected the country during mid-March 2021. It exhibited the highest positivity rate, around 20%. New positive patients and deaths toll commenced to skyrocket and reported peak by April 15, 2021. Then situation gradually improved with effective measures and restrictions. The pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected 220 territories, regions, and countries and resulted in more than 174.116 million infections, deaths, 3.75 million, and 157.157 million positive cases fully recovered from this infectious disease, as of June 7, 2021. The pandemic has caused a severe crisis of healthcare facilities and economic challenges worldwide. Pakistani economy reported GPD's negative growth (-0.05) for the first time over the last 60 years in 2020, which caused a massive financial crisis. The Government's relief package intervened to reduce public mental stress and improve the quality of their lives. IMF reported that Pakistan's GPD bounced back at 4% growth by June 2021. This article determines that economic instability and health burden happened in Pakistan for a longer time than financial disequilibrium that occurred globally. Pakistan encountered this crisis due to its feeble healthcare systems and fragile economy. This study explores adverse health issues and spillover consequences on the economic crisis in Pakistan with global implications. It recommends smart lockdown restrictions in most affected areas to reopen the economic cycle with strict preventive measures to minimize the COVD-19 adverse consequences.

RESUMEN

Climate / weather factors are important factors for tourists to choose tourist destinations. With the public's attention to the influence of haze, air quality will have a profound impact on the development of tourism in tourist destinations. Based on the Epsilon-based Measure (EBM) super-efficiency model and Global Malmquist-Luenberger index analysis method, this paper aims to study the tourism development efficiency of 58 major cities in China from 2001 to 2016 and analyse the total factor productivity in the development of urban tourism and the changing driving factors in consideration of the undesirable output of haze characterised by PM2.5 emission concentration. The study findings show that the overall efficiency of tourism development of 58 cities is not high in 2001-2016, but the tourism development efficiency of all cities is increasing year by year. Under the constraint of haze, the efficiency of urban tourism development is not directly proportional to the degree of urban development. The overall redundancy rate of each input index is slightly high, and the redundancy of PM2.5 emission concentration has a considerable effect on the efficiency of urban tourism development. The overall change trend in total factor productivity in the development of urban tourism is improved, mainly due to the improvement of technological progress factors. On this basis, the corresponding policy implications are concluded according to high-efficiency and high-quality development of tourism in 58 major cities.

RESUMEN

The study of super-gentrification has important practical significance for maintaining social fairness, spatial justice and achieving sustainable urban development. In this article, 23 driving factors influencing super-gentrification are identified by literature research and Delphi method. Then, the 23 driving factors affecting super-gentrification are divided into four dimensions: political, economic, social and spatial dimension. On this basis, hypotheses are proposed and a structural equation model is established. Then, SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 24.0 software are used to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire data, and the model results are fitted and modified. Finally, the optimization model and path coefficient of super-gentrification driving factors are calculated. The results of the study show that political factors, economic factors, social factors, and spatial factors, all play a positive role in the development of super-gentrification. Social factors are the fundamental factors to promote super-gentrification, political factors, economic factors, and spatial factors also play a key role in the super-gentrification process.

RESUMEN

This study explored the effects of work-to-family conflict on job burnout and project success in the construction industry. First, a theoretical model with affective commitment as a moderating variable was developed according to the conservation of resources theory. A structured questionnaire survey was then performed with Chinese construction professionals, with 309 valid responses received. In the valid data, the proportion of male construction professionals is 73% and that of female construction professionals is 27%. The analysis of the valid data used structural equation modeling. The results indicate that: (i) work-to-family conflict has a positive and significant effect on job burnout, and a negative and significant effect on project success; (ii) job burnout negatively affects project success; (iii) affective commitment negatively moderates the relationship between work-to-family conflict and job burnout. This study extends the existing body of knowledge on work-to-family conflict and helps us to better understand the functional and moderating roles of affective commitment in the context of construction projects. Furthermore, this study provides theoretical guidance and a decision-making reference to help construction enterprises manage the work-to-family conflict and job burnout of construction professionals and advance their levels of affective commitment.

RESUMEN

Since the theory of planned behavior (TPB) was proposed by Ajzen in 1985, it has attracted extensive interest and been widely applied worldwide. Although an increasing number of studies have employed the TPB in the domain of environmental science, there have been no attempts to retrospectively analyze existing articles. The current study aimed to holistically understand the application status of the TPB in environmental science from a knowledge domain visualization perspective. A total of 531 journal articles were obtained through the Scopus database to perform a bibliometric analysis and content analysis. The results showed that waste management, green consumption, climate and environment, saving and conservation, and sustainable transportation are the primary research topics; the United States (U.S.), Mainland China, the United Kingdom (UK), and Malaysia are the most productive countries/regions. Moreover, the cross-disciplinary situations, main source journals, and key articles were revealed. Furthermore, the extended factors, integrated theories, major methods, specific groups, and control variables of environmental science research using the TPB were elaborated and integrated into a comprehensive application framework. Constructive criticisms were ultimately discussed. The findings contribute in several ways to help relevant researchers learn about the application of TPB to environmental science and provide new insights and holistic references for further research on environment-related behavior.

RESUMEN

The construction industry is a demanding work environment where employees' work-family conflict is particularly prominent. This conflict has a significant impact on job and family satisfaction and performance of employees. In order to analyze the dynamic evolution of construction industry employee's work-family conflict between work and family domains, this paper constructs a bi-directional dynamic model framework of work-family conflict by referring to the relevant literature. Consequently, a system dynamics model of employee's work-family conflict in the construction industry is established, and a simulation is conducted. The simulation results indicate that construction industry employees experience work interference with family conflict (WIFC) levels which are significantly greater than the family interference with work conflict (FIWC) levels. This study also revealed that improving work flexibility and organizational support can have a positive impact on the satisfaction and performance of construction industry employees from a work and family perspective. Furthermore, improving family support can only significantly improve employee job satisfaction.
